I met my first scooter when I was a teenager. My brother got it from our neighbor who had bought it in the beginning of sixties. He told that it was difficult to buy a car in those times therefore a scooter was often a solution for young soviet people. The model was called "TULA" (a city in Russia)- a motorbike with a very strange construction.

It was a sweaty Saturday afternoon when I wanted to visit my younger brother who was working on a holiday boat near Cuijk. Because of the extreme temperature that day, they were out sailing by the time I got to the boat. Cuijk is just of the highway from Nijmegen to Venlo and other for the fact that there is a railway station in Cuijk there is absolutely no reason why anybody would stop in this place. Of course, like always when someone is not familiar with a town, this isn't true. I just like the sound of that phrase. In fact Cuijk is the place where it all happened that day.
Franks (erster) Goggoroller
Ein unverbastelter und nahezu vollständig erhaltener Goggoroller 200/II wird wieder zum Leben erweckt.
"Ich bin zu dem Goggo gekommen wie eine Jungfrau zum Kind..." erzählt Frank.
Und obwohl er noch nie etwas mit alten Rollern zu tun hatte, hört man aus seinen Erzählungen die Begeisterung für das neue Hobby deutlich heraus.
Erste Ausfahrt 2005
Meine erste Ausfahrt an einem sonnigen Frühlingssonntag Morgen im April 2005 führte mich rund um die reizvolle Landschaft der Donauenge bei Kelheim / Weltenburg.
Vorbei an weltberühmten Sehenswürdigkeiten wie die Befreihungshalle und das Kloster Weltenburg mit Asamkirche führt der Weg entlang verschlungener Donauwindungen nach Neustadt /Do. und auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite wieder zurück nach Kelheim.
Viele schöne Aussichtspunkte und gemütliche Lokalitäten laden zum Verweilen ein.
50 Jahre Goggomobil
50 Jahre Goggomobil- Das Fest in Dingolfing
Am Pfingstwochenende (13.-16.Mai 2005) feierte Dingolfing den 50. Geburtstag des Goggomobils.
Im gesamten Stadtbild wurde man durch die vielen Goggomobil- und Glasfahrzeuge in die fünfziger und sechziger Jahre zurückversetzt.
Vor fünfzig Jahren begann die Serienproduktion des Goggomobils und läutete den Automobilbau in Dingolfing ein, der nach Übernahme durch BMW sehr erfolgreich bis in die heutige Zeit fortgesetzt wurde.
50 Years of the Goggomobil – celebrations in Dingolfing
On Whit Weekend (13th–16th May 2005) Dingolfing celebrated the 50th birthday of the Goggomobil. Thanks to the many Goggomobil and Glas vehicles in attendance, the entire townscape transported you back to the 1950s and ’60s.
It was 50 years ago that series production of the Goggomobil was launched, ushering in the era of car construction in Dingolfing which, after its takeover by BMW, has been a great success to the present day.
Goggo in San Francisco
I'm located in San Francisco, California and a long-time dream of mine was fulfilled last week when a Goggoroller came to live in my garage! My Goggo is a 1954 150 Standard, a nice unrestored example that came from Holland. If the story of this Goggo is true then it has not been run since the early 1960s, but I put some fuel in the tank and it fired right up! Seems to run pretty well, too!!
